You Can Help

To operate the pantry effectively, 100-115 volunteers are needed each month. Please consider donating a few hours per month to help us serve our neighbors.

Here what volunteers do each week:

  • Registration: check clients in (Wed and Saturday am)
  • Shopping guides: lead clients through the market and help them shop (Wed and Sat am)
  • Warehouse stocking: receive donations, unpack pallets and stock warehouse/market shelves (Wed, Sat and Fri am)
  • Donation pickups coordinated by Feeding America: Walmart Van Wert, Dollar General stores in Paulding and Payne and the Chief in Paulding
  • Committees: help us plan events, raise money, do marketing, support our board

To get started, email volunteer@caresharepantry.org.

The pantry receives about 160,000 pounds (80 tons!) of food and personal hygiene items each year. One third of that is donated by individuals, organizations and food drives.

  • Shelf-Stable: We regularly stock canned vegetables and fruit, pasta, breakfast food, soup, small canned meat, tomato and potato products, beans, baking goods, condiments and drinks. You can also donate personal care and home cleaning products.
  • Fresh Produce: Through our Homegrown program, we invite local growers and producers of vegetables, fruits, eggs and other fresh food to donate their extras.

How to Donate

  • Individual Food Donations: Donations will be received 9 am to noon Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at the donation door on the north end of the pantry at 318 N. Walnut Street in Paulding.
  • Food Drives: Churches, businesses and other organizations can sponsor a food drive to collect the same type of shelf-stable food listed above. To organize a food drive or coordinate the delivery of large donations, please email foodrives@caresharepantry.org.
  • Amazon Wish List: You shop online and your purchases are delivered directly to us. Visit the pantry’s wish list.

Do not leave donations outside.

Financial donations to the pantry go toward our operating budget and help us achieve our mission of engaging the local giving community and volunteers to help serve our neighbors and work against food insecurity in Paulding County. The pantry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Designate Your Gift

Regardless of how you donate, if you want your donation to be used for a specific purpose, include a letter with your donation or email legacy@caresharepantry.org in advance of making a donation.

Farmers, the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry needs your support. Bounty from your fields can help feed our neighbors.

  1. When 12% of Paulding County residents deal with food insecurity (according to Feeding America), we need community support to provide them food.
  2. When the households we serve in the county increase 250% from 2021-23, and continue trending up by 30% in 2024, we need additional resources to stay stocked and to serve the people who need us.

At the time of your harvests, consider giving a gift of grain to the pantry. Caring & Sharing Food Pantry is set up to accept donations at the Mercer Landmark (all locations), Scott Equity Exchange in Scott and Cooper Grain & Feed in Paulding. Just tell them how many bushels you would like to donate, and they will make it happen. If you use a different elevator let us know, and we can set up an account there, too.

Thank you for all you do for our community. We can’t do what we do without Paulding County’s support — financial gifts, food donations and volunteers.
